One 1.1

And so it begins . . .

Our two favorite detectives haven't exactly hit their stride yet. Their partnership is in its first year and they're not exactly on the same page. Goren gives his word to a family that their daughter's killer will be found, and Eames has a problem with it -- they get a little snippy with each other, and not for the last time.

Deakins calls Goren a "right-brained guy" 'cause Goren's trying to round third even though he hasn't touched first or second. Deakins calls Eames "Alex" and is glad she's there to be a base coach.

Goren makes all kinds of assupmtions Eames isn't cool with and he gets a little smart with her: "Okay, if it doesn't bother you."

Alex makes her first sarcastic funny: Ho Ho Ho, BA runs after Masuccis and Randazzos, and Bobby is the only volunteer for a month's worth of security camera tapes. Bobby likes to watch. Alex likes to listen.

Goren's biker buddy with the body art shows up at the precinct: "Buddy of yours?" "I hope so." Turns out the guy got some friends in the Canadian prison system. Handy.

BA argues some more, but now they're at least on the same page more or less. Goren does his famous impression of bend-at-the-waist Gumby in the interogation room and tells a big fat lie about AIDS: I lied. Sorry.

In the end . . . "Men come and go . . ." "but diamonds don't keep you warm at night."

Clothes Call: Bobby's blue vest
