Unrequited 3.12

THE RETURN OF EAMES! We're so happy we could do a jig ... and Goren does! Everybody does!

We got ourselves a Norma Desmond. And Bishop in the cold opener! And Eames gets the first line of questioning and whole fistfuls of dialog while Goren putters around in the background! Since Eames isn't giving an inch, the guy in the tux goes over to Goren for sympathy, but Goren ignores him and Eames continues being awesome. Welcome back, Eames! We MISSED you! And she really gets to run this whole case while Goren dances around and putters in the background, which is such a great change of pace. She even gets to find the evidence!

Marion Whitney salsas her way through an interrogation. Eames' and Goren's looks are priceless. But Goren doesn't even care she's a kook. He's just so happy to have his partner back he dances circles around Eames.

Goren and Bishop have a productive pow wow.

Goren interpretive dances his way through an interrogation.

Fay Evelyn Schlob Dumbly DeVay Cochran from Wings does a great cold hearted bitch. Goren tries to dance his way around her into her apartment, but she ain't havin' it! Goren and Eames are lovin' the challenge.

Eames attended a benefit for first responders and made a donation. \Deakins and Goren give her a hard time about going on a date while pregnant. She gets rightly defensive and Goren funnily backs off. The whole first part of the case is a game of "follow Eames' date's check."

Eames and Goren are Unit #229.

Goren drags Harvey's ankle bracelet around Marion's stage. It's another sad heel story -- poor Harvey. Another sad sack guy who murders cuz he's being used. But Goren arrests him in the most gentle way.

Clothes Call: Marion Whitney's sparkly getup. Eames' bouncy bob haircut. And Goren's short attractive one. Goren's blue shirt and no tie at his desk. Marion's flower wrap in interrogation. Really every single one of Marion's outfits.

Quotable:

Goren: We can come back tomorrow.
Marion Whitney: That would be so much better.
Goren: Yeah. But since we're here --

Marion: I'm a student of the dance.
Eames: The dance of the merry widow.

Harvey Gruenwald: Who did you think did it?
Eames: We're keeping an open mind.

Goren: If it's like most simple motor tics, it's developed in early childhood.
Deakins: [to Eames] See what you missed?
Eames: [Sighs]

[Deakins and Goren give Eames a look when they found out she went to a benefit a few months ago with a date (Terry)]
Eames: What was I supposed to do while I was pregnant? Sit home and knit?

Eames: So Harvey's having to rob Peter to pay the pandas.

Goren: You are tough, Mrs. Gruenwald, 'cause normally Detective Eames and I, we'd be in the living room by now.

[Harvey poses and smiles for a photo while being led away in handcuffs]
Goren: Done?
